Enugu: Five Feared Killed As Gunmen Attack Polling Units

Five people have been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen in attacks on two polling units in Enugu South and Agbani council areas of Enugu State.

Naija News gathered that many others were injured in the attack, while vehicles were also burnt.
The gunmen attacked during the election conducted by the state Independent Electoral Commission for the office of the 17 council chairmen and 260 councillorship wards.

The election which was peaceful in some areas was bloody in places like Aninri, Awgu, Nkanu West and Enugu South.

It was reported that the hoodlums attacked polling units at Obeagu ward III in Enugu South Local Government Area and another polling unit at Akpugo in Nkanu West LGA.
The gunmen during the attack destroyed electoral materials after chasing away voters.
The state police command is yet to release a statement on the attack.
